With Business, budgeting is a breeze - you’ll get the predictability of fixed-generation power prices locked in for 6 months to help keep your costs on track. And because we’re founded on fairness, we make sure to pass through cheaper network prices during off-peak hours if they’re available in your area, and we reflect network price changes, too - if our costs reduce, then we’ll reduce our charges to you, too!

How Business works

  • The generation price of your bill is fixed for 6 months; the rest (like your network and metering charges) varies slightly.

  • View your business insights and monitor usage on the Flick Customer Dashboard or Flick app.

  • You’re in charge - pick billing and payment options that work for you.

So how is Business different to other business fixed-price power plans?

It’s fixed price power that’s fair. Business is about fixing the price of the generation part of your bill only - that’s the price of the actual electricity you use.

All the components of your bill are set out transparently so you can see exactly how much you're paying - and what for.

The cherry on top? We don't have break fees, either - so while your generation price is promised for 6 months, you're not locked in as a customer. So much goodness! We reckon it's NZ's fairest fixed price power deal.

Are there different prices for different people on Business?

There are - and it’s mainly down to which network you belong to. As you may know from our Forecast To Final Prices blog, moving energy around the country costs money so the price of electricity sometimes vary depending on location. Sames goes for Business.

Metering configuration also makes a price difference, which is true of Wholesale too (and any power price plan for that matter!). For example, if you’ve got Controlled and Uncontrolled configuration this is often more expensive than an All Inclusive or Controlled configuration (that’s because the network company can switch off power to a Controlled meter when there’s a fault or demand is very high).

The price we buy hedges for may increase or decrease. This won’t affect your 6-month price promise, but it’s possible that there will be variances in price between terms. Our finance team will be working hard to keep it pretty same-same (not to mention the absolute best price we can!), but the price has the potential to increase or decrease between term periods.

It also means customers who sign on at different times might have different fixed-term prices, simply because it’s cost us a different price to buy hedges (energy).

How do I pay my bill with Flick?

For Weekly billing we’ll send your bill each Tuesday and take your payment on Thursday via Direct Debit from your bank account or Credit Card.

For Fortnightly billing we’ll send your bill every other Tuesday and take your payment on Thursday that week via Direct Debit from your bank account or Credit Card.

For Monthly billing your bill will be available on the second Monday of each month, and we'll take payment ten days later on the Thursday via Direct Debit from your bank account or Credit Card.

You can choose to pay your exact bill amount, or open a Bill Smoother account (aka Volt) and rounding your payments up to an amount of your choice.

By paying a little more than your normal bill amount, you'll build up a wee stash of cash that you can then use to automatically knock the top off a higher than normal bill.
