Wellington Electric Vehicle Tariff

Did you know that if you're a Flick customer, fully charging a Nissan Leaf EV overnight in Wellington could cost you just $3.45?

We know a thing or two about sustainability and innovation. That's why we're right behind the electric vehicle movement in NZ, and we're committed to offering the fairest power price to EV owners.

Wellington Electricicy offers Time Of Use / Time Of Use & Controlled (Electric Vehicle), which means that between the hours of 9pm and 7am, you'll get a lower variable network price per kWh used. Coupled with wholesale spot prices available to you through Flick, the cost of filling up overnight just got a whole lot cheaper!

To join this plan, Wellington Electricity (the lines company for Wellington) needs some info before we can pass their night rate on to you:

  • Details that confirm the car is an electric vehicle.
  • Confirmation that the vehicle is registered in your name.
  • Confirmation that the vehicle has a battery storage capacity of 12kWh or greater.
  • Confirmation that the car is registered at a residential address to which we supply electricity within the Wellington Electricity network.
  • A copy of a NZTA rego confirmation email should be able to confirm all this information.

At this stage this plan is available to residential Wellington customers only. You can see pricing under Time Of Use / Time Of Use & Controlled (Electric Vehicle) here, and if you're keen to switch to this night rate, go ahead and fill out this form below.
